NECESSARY CRITERIA TO BE MET FOR A VARIETY ADDITION TO THE NLI
  
A variety enters the NLI - at the request of the applicant - if:

. it is distinct, uniform and stable
. it has a satisfactory value for cultivation and use; in case of agricultural plant species and Industrial Chicory, excexcept for:
  - varieties of grasses not intended for the production of fodder plants (amenity varieties)
  - varieties intended exclusively for export to the third countries
  - the hybrid varieties components
  - traditional varieties
  - regional varieties
. it is maintained and a maintainer possesses its seed material in the quantity sufficient to carry out the examinations
. it is designated by a suitable denomination
. it fulfils administration requirements, including payment of fees


The variety applicant means the person who files an application for a variety addition to the NLI, a variety maintainer or other person, whom may be a natural person, a legal person or an organizational unit without legal personality having the domicile or seat within the territory of Poland or other EU Member States.
